Instinct: (Noun) A natural or intuitive way of acting or thinking.Paris Hilton arrived in Melbourne, Australia a couple days ago to host a New Year's Eve event, and has already angered locals by spending an "obscene" amount of money -- over $5000 (approximately $140 per minute) at one boutique.
World Vision Australia chief Tim Costello said Hilton's spree would have been enough to feed a Third World village. "In World Vision terms, $5000 would ensure that a village of 2000 people in Africa or Asia would have clean water for the rest of their lives," Mr Costello said.
Open Family social worker Les Twentyman said Hilton's spree was disgraceful. "It is quite obscene spending money like that. Some people are homeless and thousands of people a week are losing their jobs and it is quite obscene in some ways," Mr Twentyman said. (Source)
I guess, in theory I can understand why they're pissed... But this is Paris Hilton we're talking about. What did they expect? The local high-end boutiques not to look as though they had been ravaged by locusts after she leaves town? That's like getting mad at my dog for eating out of the litter box again. The dog knows I'm mad at her for something because I'm yelling, but doesn't understand why. When it comes down to it, they're just dumb animals. They just don't have the kind of highly functioning brains to understand the nuanced concepts of right and wrong.
I'm sorry as much as I detest Paris and am still scratching my head...I now have a bald spot, over why she's famous, I don't see anything wrong with her spending her money. Its hers to do whatever shallow thing she wants with it. Its stupid to expect people like her to give a crap about how some parts of the world are living. Parasites like the Hiltons, the Lohans ect., are strictly here to entertain us into forgetting that sometimes live does suck.
I have to agree with Zeiss. Yeah, it sucks that she has a shitload of money for doing nothing but whoring herself out while a lot of people suffer...but it's her money, she's retarded, and frankly, the economy needs big spenders right now. A lot of economic downturn is self-fulfilling prophecy; people worry and stop spending money and the economy falters and people panic, etc. Sadly, her blowing a quarter of million dollars on her Barbie blow-job vehicle is the best thing she will ever do for her country.
This is the non-story of the year. So what is that nitwit Paris Hilton spends her own money as she pleases? $5000? That is not even the cost of a single guided missile that most nations buy in large quantities to show what big balls they have. World Vision Australia are a bunch of jackases.
Here in Australia we have a thing called Tall Poppy Syndrome. WHere we like to kick anyone that has more money than the average person.
Even tho she is actually helping the local economy for spending money, they only point out what could be done helping bloody suxing wealthfare idiots. People who live on the streets here do it by choice. The government helps everyone here and healthcare is almost free.
We spent over $10mill on Fireworks to bring in the new year, no story about how that money could of been used to help the homeless.
I guess the question now that the money has already changed hands should be: what does the boutique plan to do with the $5000.
Where's the outrage there? (Assuming the boutique is also not planning to donate the money.)
